Turn the TV Off, Volume I: Leaning In in the Face of Activist Burnout

at Radical Hood Library | 2304 W Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90023

Turn the TV Off is a solution-based, community-led discussion circle that creates space for open, reflective dialogue & collective problem-solving around urgent social issues. Rooted in collective wisdom and emotional honesty, we seek to honor our emotions, then source solutions collectively, centering our own capacity to imagine and co-create change.

This session’s topic is Leaning In in the Face of Activist Burnout. With the ongoing heartbreak of what’s going on in Gaza, Congo, Sudan, & other global crises, many of us — especially long-time organizers — are feeling a loss of hope. We’ll explore solutions to: what does tangible, meaningful activism look like beyond the tepid Instagram post? How do we care for ourselves while holding true to our values and not turning away in weariness?
